Elemental's Story

First, there was nothing...
Then, there was light.
A creature merged from Darkness, the evil spirit of the gods. He was a beast with a body of earth. Gnarled roots and branches intertwined with leaves were formed together from defiled hands. A mane of fire, brighter than mortal flames, leaped upon his head. Storms and raging vortexes of air set his feet upon the ground, destroying whatever fell below. Huge, horrible wings stretched from his earthly limbs in a surge of waves. It froze, leaving spurts of water gushing out from shards of ice.
Those horrible wings rose above his frightening form, and swept him away into the world. Being one of Darkness's creatures, his only purpose was to kill. He swept over cities, knocking them over and burning villages. Forests were enflamed at the flick of his tail, and his wings drowned the land before him. Storms of his feet destroyed villages and towns as he stood nearby, watching intently at his work. He then would fly away to crush another civilization. The world was in ruins.
The gods and those forbearing light saw what was happening to their creation. The entire world was their works, and they couldn't let it go to Darkness. In secret, they conspired to destroy the Beast of Darkness. With effort and loss, they managed to take hold of him. He thrashed and struggled, but it was to no use. The gods had cleverly trapped him on an island.
This island wasn't an earthly island– it was a skyland, divided between the heavens and earth. An oily slime dwelled within it, keeping down what was sent to it.
The Beast stayed there for years, never giving up, until something came inside him. An urge to commit to the light, and create life, not destroy it. This puzzled him, as he had never known that he had light inside him.
Goodness wasn't a trait of Darkness, but yet it somehow was born into the elements that made the Beast. What Darkness hadn't realized, as he was molding the elements into the creature, was that the elements were made by the gods for good. Fire for warmth, and to extract the poison from meat. Earth, to grow the food and cotton for the people. Water, to replenish thirst, and grow what earth made. And air, to give life to the people and blow in the clouds for the rain.
When the gods realized this, they rejoiced. The Beast could be remade, and then he could remake the world. It was hard, but  there was a chance that he could be saved. A chance that hope wasn't over for the earth the gods created.

When the gods had restored the earth back to it's original state, Darkness threatened them again. The gods know it was hopeless to fight back– even the brightest of fires were quenched by the deepest, darkest waters. The only way to destroy Darkness was to have it destroy itself.

It took many more centuries to tame the Beast, but soon, his light overruled his evil. He went from a tool of Darkness to a Knight of the gods. Feasts were held in his honor. Mortals bowed to him, as they would to all the gods, and  made offerings for him. He was given a seat at the Highest Table; the greatest honor bestowed upon a god. Only he didn't realize what was ahead.
Darkness had prepared an army, one so strong that the gods could only stand and watch. They did all they could, hiding mortals and building barriers, but they knew it was useless. They only had one hope– Darkness's own creature. It was risky, they thought, for the Beast might turn back to his old master.
So, as they stood there, watching the Evil come forth, they unleashed the Beast, sending him against the greatest foe in the world.







The gods named him Elemental. Elemental the Strong. He was also known as The Changed One, New Light, and Victory.
